Queen Theia was a Fae queen with the Starborn power, who fought against the Asteri.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Theia originated from the Fae Homeworld, where she served the Asteri - though they were known as Daglan. Her servantship to a female Asteri was more that of a slave. At one point she started a rebellion with her secret lover, Fionn, using the Asteri's own weapons against them, which ended in their usurpation of power. Fionn then became High King and made Theia his Queen. Theia proceeded to claim the very island which had belonged to the Asteri she had served. The island was chosen for its natural defensive location and mists that kept it veiled from others.

After murdering her husband when he refused to pass his throne onto her before he died - naming his older daughter as next in line instead -, she set her sights on conquering other worlds like her former masters did. When the Asteri were defeated, they left behind some of their weapons, of which she used the Horn and the Harp to make the Crossing with some of her people, thus entering Midgard from her island.

She was subsequently the first Starborn Fae in Midgard, with both of her two daughters, Helena and Silene, later receiving the gift after a power transfer from their mother. Somewhere along the way, she and Aidas met, fell in love, and discovered that they were mates. She then fought alongside Hel against the Asteri to free Midgard, but was later killed by her daughter Helena's husband, Prince Pelias, on the battlefield.

Personality[]

Theia was power hungry, ambitious, and ruthless, as seen when she killed her husband for the throne. She was driven by a desire to constantly have more power and rule more land.

Physical Description[]

Theia was said to be golden-haired. She looked like a High Fae female. Her face was as cold as her Daglan mistress's. She was hard-faced and beautiful.

Powers & Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Fae Physiology: As a Fae, Theia had enhanced senses and physical abilities than humans. She also healed from injuries much faster than a human. Moments of emotional intensity temporarily heightened her powers and abilities.
  • Starlight: Theia was Starborn and had the ability to wield starlight. A light of a pure star - it presumably has no other power other than the light itself and to blind people.
    • Starfire: Theia had the ability to wield starfire, which acted like a laser.
  • Telepathy: Theia could speak to others mind-to-mind, also known as mind-speaking. However, she couldn't actually read other's thoughts.
  • Immortality: Theia had a slowed and expanded lifespan and was able to survive injuries that not even her accelerated healing would be able to regenerate from.

Abilities[]

  • Combat: As she fought against the Asteri, it can be assumed that Theia was a skilled warrior.

Trivia[]

  • Theia was the owner of the Starsword before it was stolen from her by Pelias after her death.
  • She was referred to as "Aidas's great love" by Apollion in House of Sky and Breath.[citation needed]
  • Bryce Quinlan bears her Starborn light.
