The Viper Queen is one of the seven Heads of Lunathion and the ruler of the Meat Market. The snake-shifter is known as the mistress of the underworld and is a feared poison expert.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

The Viper Queen'S past is unknown to most, but she has been the ruler of the Meat Market for longer than anyone can remember. She was most likely alive during the Fall.

The Viper Queen is always surrounded by four Fae males. They are defectors from the Autumn King's court and are trained assassins in weapons, venoms, and poisons. Her bodyguards are addicted to the venom she secretes and doles out to her inner circle.

House of Earth and Blood[]

The Viper Queen meets with Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar as they investigate Danika Fendyr's murder. Maximus Tertian has just been killed on the outskirts of the Meat Market in the same manner as Danika. The Viper Queen gives them evidence of her alibi. Before they leave, she tells Bryce to "look toward where it hurts the most. That's always where the answers are."[1]

Personality[]

The Viper Queen is described as a powerful and skilled personality who invokes fear due to her reputation and interest in venoms and poison. She tells Hunt that "as long as trouble doesn't pass through her district, she doesn't care what goes on in the rest of Lunathion."[1]

Physical Description[]

The Viper Queen is a tall, moon-skinned woman with a chin-length and razor sharp black bob. Her eyes are a remarkable green marbled with veins of jade and gold. She has a slitted pupil like a snake's eyes, well-groomed black eyebrows, full lips and bright white teeth with elongated and thin canines. She has a small beauty mark beneath the outer corner of her eye, and has a tattoo of a snake twining around a crescent moon on one of her wrists. Her serpent form is a moon-white cobra with scales that gleam like opals. The power of her snake form is rumored to be something strange and old mixed with her venom.

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Shifter Physiology: The Viper Queen has enhanced speed, strength, and regenerative abilities because of her Vanir status. She has more acute senses and can heal from injuries much faster than a human. Her senses are so powerful and sensitive that she can hear the heartbeat of others, taste fear, and has an incredibly sensitive sense of smell. The Viper Queen tells Bryce that she can taste when something important is about to happen, "like a change in the air."[1]
  • Shifting: The Viper Queen possess the ability to transform into a magically enhanced animal form. Her animal form is that of a larger than average cobra. In this form she is stronger, faster, and has keener senses than in her human form. As an experienced shifter, she can hold a state between her two forms, such as revealing snake eyes and fangs. She can effortlessly change between her human and animal forms and can communicate well while in her snake form.
  • Venom Secretion: The Viper Queen can secret an addictive venom.
  • Immortality: Having made the Drop, the Viper Queen is immortal which not only grants her a slowed and expanded lifespan but allows her to survive injuries that not even her accelerated healing would be able to regenerate from.
