The Oracle is one of the seven Heads of Lunathion and has control over the Old Square.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

The Oracle is a sphinx, one of the rarest creatures on the earth. Like all other sphinxes, she has been called to the service of the gods. No one knows how old they are and no one knows her name, only her title: Oracle. She resides in her temple in the Oracle's Park in Lunathion.

The Fae come to see her as the first of their two Great Rites to enter adulthood. It had once been done to foretell marriages and alliances. Today, it is more to get a feel for a child's career and whether they'd amount to anything.[1] Ruhn Danaan visited her for his reading, and the Oracle told him that the royal bloodline would end with him. It was such a harrowing experience for Ruhn that he puked afterwards.[1]

Twelve years ago, a thirteen-year-old Bryce Quinlan visited the Oracle for her own reading. Immediately, the Oracle started screaming and clawing at her own eyes, not even speaking to Bryce first. This occurred due the Oracle being blinded by Bryce's Starborn powers. Bryce has refused to even enter the Oracle's Park ever since.

House of Earth and Blood[]

The Oracle, the Autumn King, and Micah Domitus have searched for any possible work around against the loophole utilized by Philip Briggs to be released from prison. They are unsuccessful and he is released the same day Danika Fendyr and the Pack of Devils is killed.

Hunt Athalar visits the Oracle to seek information about Luna's Horn. She tells him that Luna's Horn was taken to open the doorways between worlds. The thief wishes to use the Horn to reopen the Northern Rift. She also informs him that the Horn's purpose isn't merely to close doors, but to open them too, depending on what the bearer wishes. The Oracle also mentions that despite what everyone believes, the Horn can be repaired.

The Oracle then speaks Hunt's birth name, the first time he's heard it in two hundred years. She tells Hunt that he "reminds her of that which was lost long ago. She had not realized it might ever appear again." She then warns him to "keep well away from Bryce Quinlan."[2]
