Tharion Ketos is a Mer, who was Captain of Intelligence for The River Queen.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Tharion, after taking the River Queen's Daughter's maidenhood, shared vows with the promise to marry her in the future. He is later seen to regret it and felt burdened by that decision.

Tharion and Hunt Athalar later jointly investigated a high profile murder case where one of the victims was Tharion's sister Lesia Ketos. The murderer turned out to be a rouge Panther Shifter who was killed by Tharion as revenge. This earned him a promotion in the ranks of the Blue Court. .

House of Earth and Blood[]

Tharion helps in Hunt and Bryce Quinlan's search for information regarding any unusual sightings near the House of Many Waters. They suspected that the Kristallos demon might be traveling through the sewer tunnels or dumping the bodies of its victims there. They asked Tharion to warn the River Queen about the demon.

Tharion later sent photographs of one of the Kristallos demon's victim's bodies retrieved from sobek's lair along with his notes on it and analysis reports as conducted by the Blue Court.

Bryce, after visiting the Meat Market, and hearing from the Viper Queen about the dealing of the drug Synth at the river, sent a message to Tharion asking to meet. Tharion revealed that the Synth was being sold on the river and that he had received intel of Danika Fendyr on an Auxiliary boat with a crate Synth a day before her death. However, he was not sure if she was selling it or buying it, or simply confiscating it on behalf of the Aux. He then informs Bryce that Synth is a highly dangerous magical-synthetic drug. It started as an aid for healing, but someone apparently realized that in super-concentrated doses, it can give humans strength greater than most Vanir.

Tharion later sends a message to Bryce via the Otter Postal Service about a deal of Synth that was about to go down at the river. He took Bryce with him on his water skimmer to the boat where they discovered that Hunt, Viktoria Vargos, and Justinian Gelos were buying Synth from the Viper Queen to gain enough power to overthrow Micah Domitus and the Asteri and free themselves of the halos. However, their plan failed as they found out the Viper Queen had double crossed them and had informed Micah of their plans in exchange for a favor.

When Micah opened the portals to Hel through the city Gates, Tharion had ordered his people to go to the surface and bring as many people below the waters in order to save them from the demons from Hel. Tharion also joined Hunt, Ruhn Danaan, Amelie Ravenscroft, Fury Axtar, and Tristan Flynn as they head to Lunathion during the demon attack to save the people and Bryce.

Personality[]

Tharion is a charming, fun, and confident male. He desires a better world, free from hierarchies and imbalances of power of the current world. Tharion loves just about everything Above. But nothing is greater than his love for what it feels like to be in the water.

Physical Description[]

Tharion has jaw-length auburn hair and light brown eyes. The reddish-brown scales of his long and massive tail catch the light like burnished copper. Black stripes slash across his body continuing up his torso and arms, like some sort of aquatic tiger. He has long, sharp, grey taloned hands and the bare skin of his arms and chest are tanned.

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Mer Physiology: Tharion has enhanced physical abilities and senses than humans because of his Vanir status. He has more acute senses and can heal from injuries much faster than a human.
  • Shifting: As a Mer, Tharion possesses the ability to transform into a merman form. His Mer form has scales, a tail, and gills. He must submerge himself in water at least once a day. If he spends too long in his human form, it will become permanent with his scales drying up and flaking away into dust and his gills shrinking to nothing.
  • Water Manipulation: As a Mer, Tharion can use and manipulate water. Tharion is powerful enough to summon water from the air. After taking the cure to rid his body of the Asteri parasite, Tharion's power level drastically increases.
  • Immortality: Having made the Drop, Tharion is immortal which not only grants him a slowed and expanded lifespan but allows him to survive injuries that not even his accelerated healing would be able to regenerate from.

Relationships[]

Lesia Ketos[]

From the way Tharion acted after his sister's death and how often he thinks of her, it can be assumed that Tharion loved Lesia very much. He was devastated after Lesia's murder and hunted down and killed her murderer himself.

Sathia Flynn[]

Sathia married Tharion out of convenience. Her family sought asylum from the Asteri in Avallen and her father allowed Morven to hold Sathia hostage until she wed. Morven and Lord Hawthorne wanted her to choose one of Morven's nephews, Seamus or Duncan, but she refused. Bryce and all her friends show up to Avallen, and seeing another person in a bad place, Tharion stepped up and offered to marry her, knowing that it would help both of them out of tough situation. Sathia agreed and they wed five minutes later.
