Shahar, formerly referred to as the Daystar, was an Archangel, the leader of the uprising against the Imperial Senate, and Hunt Athalar's lover.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Shahar and her twin sister Sandriel were born in the southeastern regions of Pangera to two prominent Archangels as the result of an experiment conducted by the Asteri to find out what would happen when they crossed the bloodlines of two incredibly powerful Archangels. The official record states that their parents were killed by an assassin. Shahar and Sandriel became Archangels when their parents' titles passed to them upon their deaths. Shahar, however, was convinced that Sandriel had killed their parents and framed the assassin so that the sisters could rule without interference.[1] Shahar rebelled against her fellow Archangels and the Asteri because of this. She'd wanted a world free of rigid hierarchies, but she'd also wanted her sister to pay for killing their parents.
Shahar initiated her campaign against the Imperial Senate, leading the 18th Legion, her most elite soldiers. Amidst the rebellion, she had met Hunt who worked his way up the ranks of her legions and fell in love with her vision for the world and eventually her. Seeing value in the unique lightening powers Hunt possessed, Shahar had utilized Hunt's skills well in battle and made him her general of the 18th Legion before becoming his lover. Hunt became High Commander of all Shahar's legions. He spent five years with Shahar and the 18th.
In the final days of the rebellion, Shahar pushed her efforts to destroy Sandriel at Mount Hermon, with Shahar ordering Hunt to take her twin sister out by any means necessary. However, the battle was short-lived and resulted in the defeat of the 18th Legion and capture of their survivors. Shahar had personally attacked Sandriel herself, and despite her efforts, Sandriel killed Shahar, finally ending the rebellion.
After the rebellion, Shahar's body was taken back to the Crystal Palace, the home of the Asteri in the Eternal City, where Sandriel's second-in-command, Pollux Antonius urinated over her corpse. Her wings were stripped from her body and were hung above the thrones of the Asteri alongside the other angels who died for her cause. The survivors, including Hunt, were labelled as "fallen angels" and as punishment their magic was bound and limited by "halo" tattoos on their head. As such, they had lost their rights and were passed around to different Archangels as slaves for eternity for their transgressions. Forty years later, the humans began their own rebellion against the Imperial Senate for their freedom from the rigid hierarchies in the northern reaches of Pangera.
Personality[]
Shahar was seen as an inspiring and strong-willed individual who, despite her upbringing as the daughter of two Archangels, saw the corruption and the true nature of the Imperial Senate. She held onto her beliefs till the every end of her life, including the theory that Sandriel was the murderer of her parents. As such, many were able to side with her and saw her as a way to free themselves from the strict hierarchies that oppress the inhabitants of Midgard.
Physical Description[]
Shahar and Sandriel looked nearly identical. Thus it can be presumed that Shahar had the same brown eyes, full lips, thin arms, and dark hair as Sandriel. She also had the pristine white wings that all Archangels do.
