Sandriel was an Archangel, Governor of the northwestern quadrant of Pangera, and Hunt Athalar's former master.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Sandriel and her identical twin sister Shahar were born to two prominent Archangels in Pangera as the result of an experiment conducted by the Asteri to find out what would happen when they crossed the bloodlines of two incredibly powerful Archangels. The official record states that their parents were killed by an assassin. Sandriel and Shahar became Archangels when their parents' titles passed to them upon their deaths. Shahar, however, was convinced that Sandriel had killed their parents and framed the assassin so that the sisters could rule without interference.[1] Shahar rebelles against her fellow Archangels and the Asteri because of this. She'd wanted a world free of rigid hierarchies, but she'd also wanted her sister to pay for killing their parents. Despite this, Sandriel believed Hunt had lured Shahar into the rebellion and that it was Hunt's fault that she had to kill her sister.
She was Hunt's third owner after the defeat of the Fallen at the Battle of Mount Hermon. She was arrogant enough to believe that despite the two Archangels before her who had failed, she would be the one to break him. First Sandriel tortured Hunt in her horror show of a dungeon, then she pitted him against warriors who never stood a chance in her blood-soaked arena in the heart of Ravilis. Then Sandriel commanded Hunt to do what he did best, ending lives. Hunt had done most of the assassinating for Sandriel for the fifty-three years she'd possessed him. She enjoyed nothing more than strolling through her castle dungeons, which were crammed full of human rebels, and selecting ones to put in her arena. The arena was just for her pleasure of destroying prisoners in various ways. She would host battles to the death, hold public torture events, and unleash Lowers and basic animals against the prisoners.
Four years ago, Archangel Micah Domitus purchases Hunt from Sandriel for eighty-five million gold marks.
House of Earth and Blood[]
Sandriel is coming to Lunathion on the Asteri's orders for the Summit. Micah has been told to host her as his "guest" for a month. She is bring Pollux Antonius with her.
Personality[]
Sandriel was a cruel female who delighted in pain and bloodshed and despair, with a tenacity for mocking her victims and torturing them, such as the prisoners in her dungeons. There was no end to her creativity regarding ways to hurt, torture, and kill. Hunt described Sandriel as a psychopath.[2] She was arrogant. She looked down upon other Vanir whom she doesn't see value in, and is very much dismissive of ongoing programs affecting their individual communities. Despite her power-hungry nature, Sandriel is also very strategic and intelligent, capable of finding out crucial information about those she wishes to learn more of efficiently, such as learning of Bryce's familial ties to the Autumn King. As noted by Hunt, Sandriel was also an avid gambler and the reason why she had to sell him was due to the large debt she accumulated gambling.
Physical Description[]
Sandriel had thin arms, full lips, and sharp brown eyes that were honed by a millennia of cruelty and near-unchecked power. Being Shahar's twin, Sandriel looked near identical to her sister, and had possessed white wings like all Archangels.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Malakim Physiology: Sandriel had physical abilities and enhanced senses that made her far stronger than both humans and Vanir. Due to her Archangel status, it can be presumed that she was stronger than other malakim, with only other fellow Archangels rivaling her strength.
- Flight: Through her wings, Sandriel was able to fly. She was also capable of carrying people in her arms while she flies.
- Wind Magic: Sandriel possessed the ability to manipulate their air around and create large gusts of wind. Due to her Archangel status, this ability can be presumed to have been highly destructive, as Sandriel was capable of warding off Ruhn with very little effort before he could approach her. She was even capable of breaking Ruhn's own shadows with a simple flick of her power.
- Raw Power: Like other Archangels, Sandriel possessed a form of raw power that she'd used to effortlessly melt Bryce's Archesian amulet in her grip.
- Immortality: Having made the Drop, Sandriel was immortal which not only had granted her a far greater lifespan, but had allowed her to live through injuries that not even her accelerated healing would be able to regenerate from.
Trivia[]
- It was Sandriel's forces that Hunt had decimated at the Battle of Mount Hermon. Sandriel had been Shahar's prime target and ordered Hunt to take her out by whatever means necessary.[1]
