Pollux Antonius, also known as The Hammer, was the commander of Sandriel's Triarii until transferring to Ephraim. He was later transferred to Celestina's triarii at Lunathion along with Baxian Argos.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Not much is known about Pollux's early life. He was Sandriel's triarii commander and her Second.[1] His name, the Hammer, was a reference to being the "smasher of battlefields."[2]

Pollux accompanied Sandriel to Lunathion for the Summit.

Pollux had commandeered Mordoc and the dreadwolves from Lidia to find Bryce Quinlan. He had taken the Harpy's death personally and believed that Bryce killed her.

Personality[]

Pollux was a cruel male who delighted in carnage, fear, pain, and torture, and was generally was merciless. He was well known for his favorite activities: slaughter and torture.[3] He took cruelty and punishment to new levels.

Physical Description[]

Pollux had golden hair, cobalt eyes, tanned skin, and soft, white wings.

  • Malakim Physiology: As an angel, Pollux had physical abilities and enhanced senses that made him far stronger than both humans and Vanir. These abilities had served him well under Sandriel and her triarii, being strong enough to contend with other malakim such as Hunt Athalar on numerous occasions. Due to his reputation on the battlefield, it can be assumed that he was one of the most physically powerful malakim currently alive.
  • Flight: Through his wings, Pollux was able to fly. He was also capable of carrying people in his arms while he flew.
  • Immortality: Having made the Drop, Pollux was immortal, which not only had granted him a far greater lifespan, but had allowed him to live through injuries that not even his accelerated healing would have been able to regenerate from.

Abilities[]

  • Combat Skills: Pollux was trained in various forms of combat and self-defense to an exceedingly high level. This included training in various types of weapons.
  • Master Interrogator: Since Pollux was well-known for his love of torture, he likely had extraordinary interrogation skills.

Trivia[]

  • The name Pollux comes from the star Pollux, which is the brightest star in the constellation of Gemini. Pollux refers to the twins Castor and Pollux in Greek and Roman mythology.[4]
  • Antonius was an important plebeian family of ancient Rome, which includes Marcus Antonius, who claimed the family was descended from Anton, a son of Hercules.[5]
