The Ordeal is one of the two Great Rites to enter adulthood for the Fae.

General Information

Every Fae, regardless of gender, visits the an Oracle, not necessarily the one in Lunathion, at the age of thirteen as part of the two significant rituals marking their transition into adulthood. The initial rite involves consulting the Oracle, followed by the second rite, the Ordeal, which occurs a few years or even decades later.

The nature of the Ordeal differs from one individual to another. For some, it could be as straightforward as triumphing over an illness or resolving a personal conflict. Whereas for others, it might entail defeating a formidable creature like a wyrm or a demon. The magnitude of the challenge corresponds to the significance of the Fae involved.

• Ruhn shared his Ordeal with Tristan Flynn and Declan Emmet and they were pitted against Cormac Donnall and two of his cousins, Duncan and Seamus Donnall.
• Ruhn was 27 years old when he went through his Ordeal.
