The Northern Rift is the name of a portal on Midgard.
History[]
The Rift was first opened when Theia and her cohort arrived in Midgard from the Fae Homeworld. It is located in Nena and once was open continually, with a connection to Hel. During the final battle of the First Wars, Pelias and Apollion faced each other. The two of them fought for around three days until Apollion struck the fatal blow. But not before Pelias was able to summon all the Horn's strength, and banished Thanatos, his brethren, and their armies back to Hel. He sealed the Northern Rift forever — so only small cracks in it or summonings with salt could bring the Demons over. There is now an entire wall circling the Northern Rift to prevent Hel's denizens from crossing into Midgard. It also keeps Midgardians from leaving.
Bryce Quinlan used the Horn to open the Rift again, both to the Fae Homeworld and Hel to gain their help in the defeat of the Asteri. She then closed the Rift again.
