Luna's Horn, also known as the Horn, is a relic that belonged to the First Fae and is named after the goddess Luna. The Horn is able to open the rifts between worlds. It is part of the Dread Trove.
Information[]
Offical Story[]
Luna's Horn was a weapon wielded by Pelias, the first Starborn Prince, during the First Wars. It is said that Pelias' powers were woven into the Horn itself and that the Fae forged it in their homeworld, named it for the goddess in their new one, and used it to battle the Demon hordes once they made the Crossing. During the final battle of the First Wars, Prince Pelias and the Apollion faced each other. The two of them fought for around three days until Apollion struck the fatal blow. But not before Pelias was able to summon all the Horn's strength, and banished Apollion, his brethren, and their armies back to Hel. He sealed the Northern Rift forever, so that demons could only get through small cracks in it or summonings with salt could bring them over. Pelias wielded the Horn until he died. It can only be used by a Starborn Fae.
Truth[]
In truth, the Horn is part of the Dread Trove, an array of weapons brought by the Asteri. However, they rarely used the artifacts, simply because they couldn't decide who got to use them. Queen Theia used this to whisk the Trove away and use them for herself. She used both the Horn and the Harp - another part of the Trove - to open a portal into Midgard and lead her people there. In the end, her daughters Helena and Silene used them to open up a portal back into their home world, but only Silene and the Harp made it back. Both Helena and the Horn stayed behind in Midgard. It can be assumed that Pelias took it from her and started crafting the aforementioned story himself. After the Horn was broken, the Fae and Asteri tried for years to renew it through magic and spells, but had no luck. It was then given a place of honor in the Asteri Archives, before it was transferred to Lunathion after the city's establishment.[1]
Pre-House of Earth and Blood[]
Micah wanted the Horn, so that he could summon an army to decimate the human rebels. Micah blackmailed Danika into stealing it for him. However, Danika did not trust Micah and ended up not giving him the Horn after stealing it. Instead, she crushed the Horn down into powder and mixed it with witch-ink. She then got Bryce really drunk and took her to a tattoo shop so that the Horn could be tattooed on her back. The tattoo says, "Through love, all is possible." The result was that the Horn was hidden from Micah and Bryce unknowingly became the bearer of the Horn. As Bryce is a Starborn Fae, she is the only one who can wield it.
House of Earth and Blood[]
Luna's Horn has been missing for a week when it was stolen during the blackout. Looters had used the cover to break into Luna's Temple and take the Horn from where it lay on the lap of the statue of the massive, enthroned deity. As Governor of Lunathion, Micah has offered a hefty reward for any information regarding its return and promised a public execution of the thieves. Jesiba Roga, Bryce's boss, has been demanding that Bryce find the Horn.
Micah injected Bryce Synth so that it would heal and fix whatever was broken with the Horn inside her. This would mean that the Horn would then be whole once again and could be used through Bryce. He did not intend for Bryce to survive the Synth. He just wanted her to open portals to another world, so he could have an army to destroy the rebels. Micah was successful in his plan and the seven Gates in Lunathion opened portals to Hel. Bryce managed to use her Starborn power and the Horn to close the portals and restore the city.
