The Dread Trove is an array of magical Fae artifacts.

Description[]

These artifacts are originally part of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. To view more information, please proceed to the according page in the A Court of Thorns and Roses Wiki.

The Dread Trove currently consists of four Made magical objects. There might have been more, but they might have been lost, destroyed, or misplaced.

  • The Crown
  • The Harp: A golden harp, which is capable of opening portals to different places. It can also transfer objects. Queen Theia used it to share her Starborn powers with her daughters.
  • The Horn: A horn made from bone, which is able to open the rifts between worlds.
  • The Mask: A golden mask, which is able to call upon the dead and control them.

Nesta Archeron is currently holding three of the Trove, the Crown, the Harp, and the Mask. She lent the Mask to Bryce Quinlan. The Horn has been crushed into dust and is tattooed onto Bryce's back.

History[]

The Dread Trove is an array of weapons brought by the Asteri. It was their instruments of conquest. However, they rarely used the artifacts, simply because they couldn't decide who got to use them. Queen Theia used this to whisk the Trove away and use them for herself. She hid the Crown and the Mask, but used both the Horn and the Harp to open a portal into Midgard and lead her people there. In the end, her daughters Helena and Silene used them to open up a portal back into their homeworld, but only Silene and the Harp made it back. Both Helena and the Horn stayed behind in Midgard. It can be assumed that Pelias took it from her and started crafting the a story with him in the center himself. What happened after Pelias' death is unknown.

Pre-House of Earth and Blood[]

The Horn was broken so that its power could no longer be used. Micah wanted the Horn so that he could summon an army to decimate the human rebels. Micah blackmailed Danika into stealing the Horn. However, Danika did not trust Micah and did not give ot to him after stealing it. Instead, she crushed it down into powder and mixed it with witch-ink. She then got Bryce really drunk and took her to the tattoo shop so the Horn could be tattooed on her back. The result was that the Horn was hidden from Micah and Bryce became the bearer of the Horn. As Bryce is a Starborn Fae, she is the only one who can wield it.
