Demons are an extra-dimensional species originating from the planet Hel, and the believed sworn enemy of the people of Midgard.
General Information[]
Demons are under the rule of the Prince of Hel and ranked by types. Type-Seven is only for the princes.[1]
Physical Description[]
Demons come in endless breeds and types. They can be many different shapes and sizes and can have various levels of intelligence. They can be beasts that resemble feline-canine hybrids, to humanoid shape-shifters. It is presumed that each demon breed was created for different purposes by their masters, with the environment of their dwelling place having an effect on their overall physiology.
Deathstalker[]
Deathstalkers are massive beasts with matte gray scales over a muscular, low-slung body. They possess a long tail with a spiked end, a broad, flat head, milky—blind eyes, and black curved fangs.
Kristallos[]
The kristallos was bred by Apollion to locate Luna's Horn using the blood of the slain Pelias and his own essence. Its own body structure, particularly its face, was also reshaped to endure the darkness of the Pit itself, giving it its name. It is presumably a Type-Six demon.
Known Demons[]
Powers & Abilities[]
Though the extent of their abilities is more or less unknown, it is presumed that different demon breeds have unique abilities pertaining to their own kind. Due to the destruction they caused to Midgard and other Vanir crossing the Rift, it's widely known that demons possess enhanced strength and speed, and regenerative abilities that could contend with the likes of Malakim and Fae, depending on their shape and size. Even the lowest-level purebred demon fresh out of Hel can bring an entire city to a standstill while it goes on a rampage.
More intelligent demons like the Princes of Hel are far more powerful than their progeny and universally have the abilities of shapeshifting at their disposal, alongside powers unique to their own making. Aidas has the ability to shape-shift into a white cat and possesses cryokinetic abilities that give him the power to freeze a person to death merely by being in proximity to them. Apollion, also known as the Star-Eater, is considered the most powerful of the Princes as he is the only known being able to kill an Asteri when he killed Sirius.
Demons can be summoned, but they can also cross between Hel and Midgard through rifts scattered across the world. The Princes can also slip through these rifts, but only in small animal forms which have no power and they can only stay a few hours.
