Colin McCarthy is a Fae guard and assassin for the Viper Queen.

Biography

Early Life

Colin and Sathia Flynn were childhood friends. He later became a guard in the Flynn household. At some point, he and Sathia started a romantic relationship. Unbeknownst to her, her father Padraig Flynn would not let Colin court Sathia. Padraig introduced Colin to the Viper Queen and somehow got him to become one of her drugged-out guards and assassins. Padraig lied to Sathia and told her Colin had left because he had found a new position in Korinth. It was a difficult time for Sathia, so much so, that Colin leaving was her Ordeal.

House of Flame and Shadow

Sometime after, while Sathia is with her husband Tharion Ketos, they encounter the Viper Queen and Sathia recognizes Colin amongst her guards. Sathia pleads for Colin to come home and get away from the Viper Queen. Colin doesn't respond and the Viper Queen says Colin doesn't respond unless she gives him the order. Colin is completely under the Viper Queen's control.

When Sathia reveals Tharion is her husband, Tharion says something like pain showed in McCarthy's eyes. When the Viper Queen orders the guards to aim their guns at the couple. Tharion notes Colin's weapon trembled, fighting the Viper Queen's order with everything he had so as not to hurt Sathia.

After the encounter Sathia decides not to go with Tharion to the Eternal City and leaves him a note saying that she can't leave Colin in the Viper Queen's hands so she has gone to try to save him.

Physical Description

Colin has bright, blue eyes. He has a broad chest and is very tall.

Powers & Abilities

• Fae Physiology: As a Fae, Colin has enhanced senses and physical abilities than humans. He also heals from injuries much faster than a regular human. Moments of emotional intensity temporarily heighten his powers and abilities.

Relationships

Sathia Flynn

They used to have a romantic relationship before Sathia's father got involved which caused the couple to split. They both still appear to care for each other. Colin was reluctant to hurt Sathia and appeared hurt when he learned she had married. Sathia cares for Colin enough to try to rescue him from the Viper Queen.
