The Cave of Princes, also known as Helena's Cave, is a cave system underneath Avallen. It is the resting place of Pelias and his descendants.

History[]

The caves are nearly identical to the ones in Helena's home-world, which she grew up with. Since the location in Avallen is a thin place, it is ideal for traveling between or communicating with other worlds. Furthermore, the caves are made of black salt, which can be used for summoning demons. She created the system as a means to communicate wth Hel. Since her communications had to be kept secret, she dedicated it to her husband, Pelias, as a reason to keep coming there. She essentially built him a tomb which would last, and where after hi death the Starsword might lie forever until a worthy successor came along.

The Ordeals of Ruhn Danaan - together with Declan Emmet and Tristan Flynn - as well as Cormac Donnall - with the help of Duncan Donnall and Seamus Donnall - took place in the Cave of Princes. Both Ruhn and Cormac were supposed to find and recover the Starsword, which Ruhn ended up doing.[1]
