I am darkness itself. True darkness. The kind that exists in the bowels of a black hole.

Apollion, known as the Prince of the Pit or the Star-Eater, is a powerful demon and one of the seven Princes of Hel. He occupies the seventh and deepest level of Hel.

Biography[]

The Star Eater's name derives from killing the Asteri Sirius and eating her body afterward. Since that act, his true name hasn't been uttered in Midgard.

During the final battle of the First Wars, Prince Pelias and the Prince of the Pit faced each other. The two of them fought for around three days until the Star-Eater struck the fatal blow. But not before Pelias was able to summon all the Horn's strength, and banished the Prince of the Pit, his brethren, and their armies back to Hel. He sealed the Northern Rift forever—so only small cracks in it or summonings with salt can bring them over now. Pelias wielded the Horn until he died.

Personality[]

Apollion is described to be micro-managing by Bryce Quinlan after he visits her in a dream. He also has love for his brother, Aidas, and likely by extension, the rest of his brothers as well.

Physical Description[]

Like the other Princes of Hel, Apollion has the ability to change his appearance, not only physically but also in his mental projections. He first appears in Hunt Athalar's dreams, and while Hunt doesn't see him, Hunt describes Apollion possessing leathery wings that "whispered" with his "soft, deep" voice. However, when he appears to Bryce in her dreams, he appears as a golden-haired, golden-skinned male with black eyes Bryce likened to an unending darkness, and a handsome appearance similar to that of statues. Bryce described his movements as being more "animalistic" than humanoid.

Powers and Abilities[]

Apollion has the power of a void, which he used to devour the heart of Sirius. He is also able to transform into a beast of "darkness and decay" with leathery wings and rows of sharp teeth. Apollion has a black hole in his mouth, and like Hunt, has the power of Hellfire which is strong enough to kill an Asteri.

Trivia[]

  • Apollion is also the first being to kill an Asteri.
  • He is regarded as the mightiest of the seven demon princes.
