The abbreviation A.E. stands for Asteri Era.

The A.E. calendar is particular to the Asteri and their conquests. Compared to the other time calculations previously and currently used in Midgard, it is much older. The Asteri conquered Midgard in 17.003 A.E., erased the H.E. (Human Era) calendar and started the V.E. (Vanir Era), which lasts since more than 15.000 years.
