The Bone Quarter, otherwise known as the Sleeping City, is a district located in Lunathion. It was under control of The Under-King until his death.

General Information[]

The Bone Quarter is where the spirits of the dead reside before going through the Dead Gate. It is one of the Quiet Realms. Black steps ring the foggy shore. It is surrounded by heavy mist that obscures its view from the rest of Lunathion. The mist shortly parts for Bryce Quinlan, showing her a vision of the six remaining Pack of Devils members standing in the Bone Quarter. The vision describes the land as a grassy shore with rolling serene hills beyond. It is said not to be a land of stone and gloom, but of light and green.[1] However, Bryce discovers this to be a false description months later when she and Hunt visit the Bone Quarter. The true description shows the Bone Quarter as having dry ground covered in mist, grayness, and silence. Marble and granite obelisks are rising like thick spears, many inscribed, but not with names, just strange symbols.[2] The Black Dock ends at the Istros River, which looks like a gray mirror. Even during rush hour, it's silent, empty, and wreathed in mist. Mourners visit here where they can sit on benches nearby. The color associated with the Bone Quarter is onyx, and its insignia is a set of skull and crossbones.
